While every visitor is allowed to write new annotations, only the administrator is able to manage them. Annotate provides the administrator a possibility to delete existing Annotations.

In the configuration file, the administration mode is configured by the AdminUsername and AdminPassword options.

The administration can log into the administration mode by appending ?action=login to the URL of an Annotate document (e.g. http://localhost/cgi-bin/annotate?action=login). Annotate then asks for Username and Password.

In administration mode, a "Delete" link is shown after each annotation. Clicking on this link removes the annotation.
